If you're looking for a beat 'em up or hack-n-slash game that's got buckets of blood, Fairytale Fights will definitely deliver. There's not a lot of complexity to Fairytale Fights, and that's mostly a good thing. While the combat can feel repetitive at times, Fairytale Fights is easily one of the most bloody games of all-time, which is hilarious when you consider just how cute and cuddly the rest of the art design is. At the end of each chapter, you'll have to face off against a challenging boss, which usually requires a significant amount of skill to take down. The game features a dynamic blood system that ensures the combat is visceral, brutal, and shocking. There's a huge arsenal of bladed weapons, blunt objects for bashing, and more. You'll decapitate enemies in the Candy Castle, dismember foes in the Lumberjack Lands, and generally spill blood wherever you go.Īs you travel through the linear, 3D levels, killing bad guys and opening chests, you'll discover a wide variety of useful weapons. In the main story, you must progress through five unique worlds, each one modeled after a memorable fairtytale-universe. Explore the darker side of your favorite fairytale characters in this Hack’N’Slash gore-fest platform adventure Fairytale Fights is a truly twisted hack’n’slash platform adventure where players assume the role of a much-loved fairytale character (Little Red Riding Hood, Snow White, plus more, whose glory days have long since passed. There's also an Arena mode where you can go head-to-head with your buddies in a fight to the bloody end. The game's story can be played either solo or cooperatively, with two players painting the town red side-by-side. You can play as Snow White, Beanstalk Jack, Little Red Riding Hood, or the Naked Emperor. GameplayĪt the start of Fairytale Fights, you'll pick your characters from one of four available options. Playing as one of the four main characters, you'll slash, smash, and bash your way through a variety of fantastical levels filled with enemies, hazards, and magic. As the inhabitants of Taleville take up sides, some fighting against and some fighting alongside the Little Tailor, the upbeat world turns into a violent and brutal fight. One day, a shadowy figure known only as the “Little Tailor” shows up in Taleville and threatens to steal all of the characters' fame. Together, all of the fairytale characters live together in the picturesque town of Taleville, coasting on their fame and glory. ![]() Main Game Featuresįairytale Fights features all of the fantasy characters you know and love, including Snow White, Hansel and Gretel, the Gingerbread Man, and much more. Similar in style to games like God of War, Dante's Inferno, and Alice: Madness Returns, this is one adventure that's as bloody as it is entertaining. Despite its roots in the fantasy genre, this hack-n-slash title is definitely not for kids. Unfortunately, when a new villain appears in town and threatens the fame of every character, four heroes must defeat him with a flurry of blood and gore. ![]() In Fairytale Fights, you'll slice and dice your way through Taleville, a world where fairytale characters try to peacefully coexist. Little Red Riding Hood, Jack and the Beanstalk, and other stories of fantasy characters have persisted throughout all of history. The game does have some good things going for like great graphics with a cool style and one or two cool levels, and online four player co-op (avoid the arena mode at all costs) but the game is just so boring I really don't recommend this to any gamer, which is sad because this could have been great, hopefully a sequel will be made that gets it right.Fairytales are some of the most prevalent stories in all of human history, regardless of what country you're from or what language you speak. The camera is also a big problem it's either zoomed out to far or zoomed in to close making it hard to see yourself among the enemies in the more crowded levels. The controls are a mess, you do get used to them eventually, however the combat would have been much smoother with a traditional control scheme. The gameplay itself is also a big disappointment, you basically hack and slash your way through seemingly endless waves of enemies in annoyingly long levels and fight a boss battle that drags on forever, it's all just really repetitive and boring, and it makes the whole game seem much longer than it actually is. The only problem is it never takes it's ability to be a maturely funny game far enough, all it does is slap some blood and gore on it and call it mature humor. It's got a great premise, take players on a bloody and maturely twisted romp through the world of fairytales with familiar faces and a mature sense of humor. Fairytale Fights is a game that could and should have been great, but instead ends up a boring, bargain bin experience that I recommend passing on.
